I’ve been working for the Carleton College Cowling Arboretum since 1995. Leading up to the 2026 centennial of the Arb, they began preparations for a book-sized history. I did a baseline of collecting research materials and creating an outline history in 2023-2024 under one grant (through the Minnesota Historical Society and the The Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund), and then under a separate grant from the same source Ingrid and I wrote, designed, art-directed, and layed out the book in 2025-2026. 166 pages, 250+ illustrations including several new maps, and a lot of love went into this project.
